Modernising Application Development Environment for Cloud-Native Applications

This document is a case study detailing Computacenter's initiative to modernise its application development environment. The objective of this initiative was to create a secure and flexible platform that supports the development of cloud-native applications specifically for public sector and large enterprise customers. The modernised platform integrates with IONOS data centers in Germany, ensuring compliance with local data sovereignty standards and security certifications mandated by the BSI. The use of Red Hat OpenShift enables a container-based infrastructure that enhances the development experience by providing advanced tools for application deployment, management, and scaling across various cloud environments. The initiative not only meets regulatory requirements but also strengthens Computacenter's internal capabilities, allowing for faster delivery of secure applications. Furthermore, it enhances customer offerings by embedding security features into the development process, ensuring compliance and confidence for public sector clients. Overall, the modernisation supports streamlined development processes and improves service delivery.
