This case study details the implementation of PowerShell automation in the City of Munich's IT environment, facilitated by Computacenter and ScriptRunner. The objective was to optimize automation processes to reduce manual labor and enhance efficiency within the IT department. Initially, the city faced challenges with repetitive tasks that required significant manual effort, leading to a need for a more streamlined approach. The solution involved the establishment of a central repository for PowerShell scripts, enabling the automation of routine IT tasks and allowing delegation of administrative responsibilities to team members without extensive PowerShell knowledge. The implementation resulted in improved cooperation, increased efficiency, and reduced operational costs. Furthermore, the software facilitated the connection to a ticketing system and enhanced security by managing credentials securely. As a result, the City of Munich has experienced a significant increase in productivity and user satisfaction, freeing up time for more complex projects. The ongoing collaboration with Computacenter and ScriptRunner continues to yield positive outcomes.
