This case study outlines the strategic sourcing process undertaken to enhance the syringe supply chain efficiency for a major multi-speciality tertiary care provider in India. The document details the challenges faced by the client, including a limited base of suppliers, increased lead times, and the absence of structured agreements, which hindered their ability to meet demand effectively. The approach involved a comprehensive analysis of historical invoice data and a thorough data collection process to understand the existing procurement landscape. New vendor identification and a detailed Request for Information (RFI) process were conducted to evaluate potential suppliers based on predefined criteria. The case study also describes the drafting of detailed terms and conditions, supplier qualification, and the implementation of an online Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The results included a significant cost reduction and the successful onboarding of new suppliers, ultimately enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the client's syringe supply chain.
