This case study details the Wyoming Highway Patrol's (WHP) initiative to modernize its communication infrastructure through the integration of AI technology. The WHP, established in 1933, is dedicated to ensuring public safety on Wyoming's roadways. The impetus for change arose from a bomb threat incident that highlighted the need for a more agile communication system. The WHP sought to implement a cloud-native solution to enhance operational efficiency and security. Partnering with C1, the WHP adopted Carbyne's APEX emergency contact system, which features real-time translation and geolocation capabilities. This modernization aims to improve response times and facilitate communication with non-English-speaking callers. The case study emphasizes the importance of technology in public safety, noting that AI tools will help dispatchers manage their workload more effectively. The WHP's commitment to leveraging advanced technology is framed as a means to better serve the diverse communities of Wyoming, ensuring timely and effective support in critical situations.
