This document is a case study detailing the migration of a Federal agency from an analog-based video system to a standardized IP-based platform. The agency, which has over 125 locations, faced challenges due to disparate, multi-OEM video systems that posed integration difficulties and risks. The objective of the migration was to enhance system reliability, facilitate redundancies, and reduce risk. Convergint Federal played a crucial role in this transition, which involved extensive internal process re-engineering, coordination with various functional groups, and comprehensive training. The new IP-based solution features improved security through the integration of technologies such as IP-based CCTV, video analytics, and thermal imaging. Additionally, the system has enhanced operational efficiency and compliance efforts, allowing for early identification of critical events and better situational responses. By implementing this solution, the agency achieved a standardized and resilient security infrastructure capable of addressing current and future security demands across its locations.
