This technical report details the upgrade of the central control room for MPK Łódź, which operates the tram service in the Łódź metropolitan area. The project aimed to enhance the management of tram traction substations and eliminate reliance on third-party providers. The upgrade involved the implementation of the zenon software platform from COPA-DATA, which allows for centralized monitoring and control of all substations from a single location. Key features of the new control room include a modernized infrastructure with advanced SCADA software, redundant data server architecture, and a comprehensive visualization system that displays the tram network on a city map. The report outlines how these improvements enhance operational efficiency, passenger comfort, and emergency response capabilities. Additionally, it highlights the training provided to MPK Łódź personnel, which has increased their self-sufficiency in system operation and further improved performance. Overall, the upgrade represents a significant modernization of tram network management in the region.
