This case study details the cold chain management solutions implemented by Ocean Beauty Seafoods, Inc., one of the largest seafood companies in the Pacific Northwest. The company faces unique challenges due to its remote salmon processing facilities in Alaska, which have limited airlift capabilities during peak harvest periods. To ensure product quality and customer satisfaction, a comprehensive temperature management program was established. The solutions included the use of traditional temperature monitoring devices and the innovative Copeland GO Loggers. These loggers provide critical data by monitoring the temperature history of seafood shipments from remote locations to distribution centers. As a result, the efficiency of the cold chain program improved significantly, enhancing partnerships with key logistical providers. This case study emphasizes the importance of effective cold chain management in maintaining the quality of high-value seafood products.
