This case study outlines the implementation of a heat pump system at a new office facility of a US-based search engine company in Bengaluru, India. The project aimed to meet the hot water requirements of 50,000 liters per day (LPD) using renewable energy sources as part of the company's green initiative. Due to challenges such as insufficient sunlight availability, a hybrid system was designed, integrating heat pumps with solar heaters. Copeland, in collaboration with Bisineer Engineering, supplied six heat pump machines with a capacity of 1,000 liters per hour, complemented by a 50KL hot water mixing tank. The heat pump operates by absorbing heat from the atmosphere and utilizing vapor compression technology, significantly reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption compared to traditional heating methods. The installation process was completed seamlessly, ensuring the system's efficiency and reliability in providing hot water for various applications within the office.
