This case study details the cloud migration initiative undertaken by a prominent North American logistics provider, which operates over 60 locations and offers integrated logistics services. The objective was to migrate their extensive server infrastructure to Azure Cloud while adhering to a strict data center exit timeline. Key challenges included ensuring data security during the migration, accurately identifying IP addresses, and managing inter-server dependencies. The solution involved a comprehensive agentless scan and assessment of 300 servers across Windows and Linux environments, utilizing a SaaS-based migration platform to minimize operational disruption. The project was completed within an aggressive two-month timeframe, successfully allowing the logistics provider to exit their on-premise data center without unforeseen issues. The results included precise asset discovery, reduced migration risk, expedited data center exit, and enhanced data security. The logistics provider benefited from strategic migration planning, automated dependency mapping, and transparent cost analysis, ensuring informed financial decisions throughout the process.
