This case study outlines the challenges faced by a well-known electronic payment system provider based in Hong Kong regarding the handling of confidential information. The company deals with a significant volume of sensitive transactional data, including payment details and personal information of payers. To mitigate the risk of data leakage, especially during remote work scenarios exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, the company sought a solution to remind employees to manage displayed content carefully. The implemented solution, Curtain MonGuard, displays a customizable watermark on employees' screens, which includes details such as the logged-in user and computer name. This watermark serves both as a reminder and a deterrent against casual data sharing. The system also accommodates various user conditions and scenarios, ensuring that data security is maintained even when employees work remotely. The results indicate a reduction in the likelihood of internal data sharing and emphasize the simplicity of installation and maintenance.
