CCTV Surveillance System Privacy Protection Case Study

This case study outlines a residential property project focused on enhancing the privacy of a CCTV surveillance system in Mid-Levels, Hong Kong. The property management company faced challenges related to the potential leakage of sensitive footage, which could compromise the privacy of affluent residents, including celebrities. Concerns arose from the possibility of security personnel sharing footage, either intentionally or accidentally, leading to privacy infringements. To address these issues, the management company implemented the Curtain e-locker DLP solution, which features customizable watermarks on monitoring screens. These watermarks include information such as the logged-in user and date/time, serving as a deterrent against unauthorized sharing. The system also restricts the export of footage to internal use only, ensuring that only authorized personnel can handle sensitive data. The results indicate a significant enhancement in privacy without disrupting normal operations, alongside straightforward installation and maintenance processes.
