This document is a guide detailing the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Mental Health Renewal Program offered by CPI. The program aims to enhance the skills of Certified Instructors in teaching crisis intervention strategies within their organizations. It includes a blended training format comprising an online course, classroom training, and live virtual sessions. The online component covers mental health topics and core crisis intervention content, while the classroom sessions focus on safety intervention skills and teaching practices. Participants will learn to recognize escalating behaviors, manage emotional responses, and apply effective intervention strategies. The program also emphasizes understanding mental health disorders, addressing social stigmas, and utilizing a person-centered approach. The training is structured into three parts, with specific learning objectives outlined for each component, including the use of the Decision-Making Matrix and safety intervention strategies. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate, qualifying them to teach the program using CPI materials.
