Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Trauma Instructor Certification Program

This document is a guide for the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Trauma Instructor Certification Program, which aims to equip instructors with the necessary skills to teach the course effectively within their organizations. The program emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, focusing on preventing, de-escalating, and safely responding to crisis behaviors. The training is delivered in a blended format, consisting of online courses, classroom activities, and live virtual sessions. Participants will learn to identify types of trauma, apply trauma-responsive practices, and utilize the Decision-Making MatrixSM to assess risks and determine appropriate interventions. The program includes comprehensive instructor training, emphasizing the application of learned content through case studies and competency-based testing. Successful completion of the program results in certification, allowing participants to teach the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training within their organizations.
