Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Trauma Renewal Program Overview

This document is a guide detailing the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Trauma Renewal Program offered by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). The program aims to enhance the skills of Certified Instructors in teaching trauma-informed practices within their organizations. It consists of three parts: an online course covering trauma basics and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training, a classroom day for practicing safety intervention skills, and a live virtual day focusing on trauma content. Participants will learn to identify types of trauma, apply trauma-responsive practices, and manage their emotional responses in crisis situations. The program emphasizes the importance of understanding trauma's impact on behavior and provides strategies for effective intervention. Additionally, it outlines the training components, including the assessment of competency and the facilitation methods used throughout the program.
