This case study details the warehouse capacity enhancement project undertaken by Tolsen Tools, a leading tool brand based in China. The document outlines the challenges faced by Tolsen due to rapid development, necessitating the construction of a new warehouse in 2020 to accommodate increased storage needs. The new facility spans 7,500 square meters and aims to enhance rack height and storage density. The solution involved adopting very narrow aisle racking and selecting Crown’s TSP 6500 Series turret truck, which was equipped with a wire guidance system to improve efficiency and safety. The collaboration between Crown and Tolsen during the design phase is highlighted, resulting in a successful project completion with 5 zones and 20 aisles, allowing for 14.2-meter high racks and nearly 16,000 pallet positions. The results indicate a 40% increase in storage capacity within the same area and improved load stability and operational safety.
