This case study outlines the Azure migration undertaken by the Australian Football League (AFL) with the assistance of CyberCX, a Microsoft Azure Gold partner. The primary objective was to re-host the existing backend Point of Sale (PoS) application in Azure while developing a new service that enables a 'click and collect' option for food and beverages during match days. This initiative aimed to enhance operational efficiency while adhering to COVID protocols. The migration process involved a comprehensive discovery of the system, detailed planning for access, networking, and security requirements, as well as a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis. The successful migration allowed the AFL to scale operations effectively, ensuring a COVID-safe environment for patrons and maintaining service quality. The project also set a foundation for future application migrations to Azure, showcasing CyberCX's expertise in delivering innovative solutions in the sports industry.
