Cawthron Institute Cyber Security Case Study

This case study outlines the partnership between Cawthron Institute and CyberCX, initiated in May 2021, to enhance Cawthron's cyber security posture. The collaboration arose from Cawthron's re-alignment programme called 'One-Cawthron', which necessitated a review of their cyber security strategies. The primary objective was to develop a set of ISO-aligned Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies to support the organization's new framework. Cawthron faced challenges such as a lack of internal security expertise and limited insight into their current security posture. CyberCX provided a CISO as-a-Service (CISOaaS) solution, granting access to specialized knowledge and resources. The partnership has led to improvements in email security, the implementation of a vulnerability management system, and the development of a risk register. Additionally, CyberCX has assisted Cawthron in Business Continuity Planning, ensuring preparedness for potential cyber security events. Overall, the collaboration has enhanced Cawthron's security maturity and visibility.
