This case study details RONA's implementation of automated testing strategies to enhance its quality assurance (QA) process. RONA, a prominent Canadian home improvement retailer, faced significant challenges in maintaining system stability and performance amid various high-stakes system initiatives. To address these challenges, RONA collaborated with SLMCON and utilized Cycle Labs' test automation platform. The company established a comprehensive testing strategy that included regression testing, volume testing, and continuous testing capabilities. By leveraging Cycle's test library, RONA was able to validate system functionality and identify defects early in the development lifecycle. The results of this initiative included a 30% increase in defect identification compared to manual testing, improved confidence during system changes, and the establishment of a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using GitLab. This proactive approach has positioned RONA for ongoing improvements in software quality and operational efficiency.
