Impact of Earned Wage Access on Restaurant Employees

This report examines the financial stress experienced by employees in quick-service and fast-casual restaurants and the potential of earned wage access (EWA) to alleviate this stress. Conducted by YouGov on behalf of DailyPay, the study surveyed 688 employees, revealing that a significant portion of them face financial challenges that negatively impact their personal and professional lives. The findings indicate that 66% of employees report financial stress, which affects their emotional, mental, and physical health, as well as their job performance and satisfaction. The report details how EWA can provide employees with immediate access to their earned wages, thereby improving their financial management and overall job satisfaction. Additionally, the study highlights that many employees would consider changing jobs for employers that offer EWA, emphasizing its growing importance in the workforce.
