Cisco Meraki Network Modernisation for Energy Organisation

This case study details a project undertaken by an energy organisation to modernise its network infrastructure using Cisco Meraki technology. The objective was to create a more secure and efficient network that could support a mobile workforce, particularly in light of changing work practices and increased demand for remote access due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project involved the deployment of over 1,000 wireless access points and numerous switches and routers, enhancing visibility and performance across multiple sites. The implementation process took approximately 18 months and required careful planning and collaboration between the organisation's IT team and Data#3, a trusted Cisco partner. The modernised network has improved user experience by allowing seamless connectivity across various locations, thus reducing the need for manual logins and support calls. The project not only addressed immediate technological needs but also positioned the organisation to better support its workforce in a dynamic environment.
