This technical report outlines the integration of the SoHo Implantable Telemetry system with the Promethion Metabolic Measurement system, aimed at monitoring core body temperature during metabolic experiments in mice. Dr. Eleanor McKay and her research team at the University of Lausanne faced challenges with traditional telemetry systems, which required wired receivers that were impractical in the confined space of the Promethion temperature cabinet. The DSI Technical Support team assisted in setting up a single SoHub transceiver, allowing for the placement of 12 SoHo-X00 implants without modifying the cage configuration. The system successfully collected data from all implants, including those positioned farthest from the transceiver. The integration enabled the team to capture core body temperature, locomotor activity, and energy expenditure simultaneously, providing a comprehensive view of metabolic function. The report details the successful data collection and synchronization with indirect calorimetry measurements, highlighting the effectiveness of the integrated telemetry solution.
