This case study details the implementation of Datalogic's Memor mobile computers and PowerScan handheld readers at Mr. Wash, a car wash center operating 32 locations in Germany. The objective was to replace outdated paper trails with an automated system that could efficiently track services performed on vehicles and manage inventory. The challenges included organizing the workforce, optimizing service delivery, and controlling resources across multiple locations. The solution involved integrating automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology, which allowed employees to greet customers, input service requests, and generate receipts using mobile devices. The data collected during service was transmitted and stored for easy access, significantly improving operational efficiency. The results showed enhanced productivity and streamlined processes, with the ruggedness of the devices contributing to their effectiveness. Mr. Wash now utilizes around 80 Memor mobile computers and 120 PowerScan readers to manage their services effectively.
