Efficiency Gains from DataSnipper in Audit Procedures

This case study details the implementation of the DataSnipper platform by Visser & Visser, a mid-size audit firm in the Netherlands, to enhance the efficiency of audit procedures. The study presents three test cases across different industries—Consumer Goods, Real Estate, and Construction—to evaluate the time savings achieved through DataSnipper's functionalities. The results indicate that the document matching feature significantly reduces the time spent on audit tests, with reductions from hours to minutes. For instance, in the Consumer Goods case, the time spent was reduced from 6 hours and 42 minutes to just 32 minutes, achieving a 92% efficiency gain. Similarly, the Real Estate engagement saw a reduction from 5 hours and 56 minutes to 39 minutes, resulting in an 89% efficiency gain. The Construction case reported a reduction from 49 minutes to 3 minutes, equating to a 94% efficiency gain. These findings illustrate the potential of DataSnipper to streamline audit processes and allow auditors to focus more on value-added activities.
