Economic Impact of Resource Management on Project Profitability

This document is a survey report that investigates the influence of resource management on project profitability and revenue. Conducted by RMI and Dayshape, the survey gathered insights from resource management leaders across 71 companies in various sectors, including Professional Services, IT, and Engineering. The report details the organization of resource management functions, the alignment of these practices with strategic objectives, and the tools utilized for resource management. It highlights challenges faced by resource management teams, such as reliance on siloed systems and insufficient visibility into demand. The findings indicate that while resource management practices are generally aligned with strategic goals, there is a notable lack of visibility regarding their impact on revenue objectives. The report also discusses the adoption of automation tools and the ongoing reliance on spreadsheets for resource management tasks, suggesting areas for improvement in organizational practices.
