This case study details the implementation of a new data architecture at the Bültel International Fashion Group, focusing on the use of the Denodo Platform for data virtualization. The Bültel Group, a family-owned company in the fashion industry, faced challenges with its legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, which had become outdated and inefficient due to the growth of data silos over decades. The objective was to regain control of data and improve business processes by establishing a central data platform. An interdisciplinary team, including data security experts and data engineers, was formed to design a new architecture that would normalize and reference data from various sources. A pilot project was conducted to train the team and implement the new processes. Within three weeks, the team successfully transferred 120 unstructured tables to the Denodo Platform, enabling the company to enhance data quality and create reusable data products for sustainable business processes.
