This case study details a structural repair project conducted on a 16" high-pressure natural gas pipeline in the Midwestern region of the USA, which was identified in October 2025 due to external corrosion defects. The affected section measured approximately 24 inches in length with less than 50% wall loss. A composite repair was implemented using the Denso Protal™ 2800CF Composite System, chosen for its effectiveness in corrosion rehabilitation. The repair process involved surface preparation, which included mechanical cleaning to remove corrosion products, followed by the application of Protal™ 3210 Filler and Protal™ 7300 epoxy primer. The composite material was then applied using a spiral wrap method to ensure optimal adhesion and load transfer. Environmental conditions were monitored to comply with specifications, confirming suitable curing conditions. The repair was completed efficiently in approximately 30 minutes, with all material batch numbers documented for quality assurance. This project illustrates the effectiveness of the Denso Protal™ 2800CF System in restoring pipeline integrity and extending operational life.
