This case study details the implementation of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solution by Boboli Benelux BV to enhance their order processing efficiency. Boboli, a food manufacturing company specializing in bread products, faced challenges in managing an increasing volume of orders due to manual processing methods. The objective was to automate the order process, thereby saving time and improving customer satisfaction. By adopting Descartes EDI, Boboli achieved a 75% reduction in order processing time, allowing them to handle more orders with the same workforce. The EDI system automates the entry of orders into the ERP system and facilitates the generation of digital packing slips and invoices. Additionally, the solution supports Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), which enhances product availability and reduces inventory management steps. Currently, 80% of Boboli's transactions are processed via EDI, demonstrating a successful transition to a more efficient operational model.
