This document is a case study detailing the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce's (CIBC) transition to a next-generation Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. CIBC, a multinational banking and financial services corporation, faced challenges with its existing security solutions, which were outdated and unable to meet the demands of its growing operations. The bank required a centralized system capable of integrating security data from both on-premises and cloud environments, as well as providing comprehensive insights into its numerous homegrown applications. The solution involved migrating much of CIBC's technology stack to Amazon Web Services (AWS), allowing for real-time data ingestion and enhanced security analytics. The implementation of Devo's solution replaced several legacy systems, offering improved visibility and support for CIBC's cloud environment. This transition is positioned as a critical component of CIBC's digital transformation strategy, aimed at safeguarding client information against cyber threats.
