This case study details a CCTV system retrofit project completed by Diakont for a North American nuclear facility. The project involved the installation of the D70 camera, which is capable of handling high radiation levels, specifically with a lifetime dose of 100 MegaRad and a dose-rate capability of 3x105 Rad/hr. The engineering team conducted a site survey that identified the need for modifications to the camera housing to ensure seamless integration into the existing CCTV infrastructure. The retrofit included a pan and tilt camera housing designed for compatibility with current systems, as well as integration into the existing network infrastructure. The installation also featured tabletop controllers with joysticks for simplified operation. The CCTV systems have since operated reliably, providing maintenance-free monitoring throughout the facility's duty cycle. The case study outlines the challenges faced with malfunctioning systems and the solutions implemented to enhance monitoring performance.
