This case study outlines the implementation of Titus classification solutions by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) to enhance the security of emails and documents. With a focus on national defense and international security, the DND recognized the necessity of properly handling sensitive information, particularly given the high volume of classified communications. The organization faced challenges with previous classification products that did not meet their needs, prompting a search for a more effective solution. DND required a comprehensive enterprise-wide solution that would integrate seamlessly with their existing Microsoft infrastructure. After evaluating available technologies, DND selected Titus Message Classification and Titus Classification for Microsoft Office, deploying a total of 103,000 licenses. The implementation of these solutions has enabled consistent labeling of emails and documents, reinforcing the organization’s information security policies and ensuring proper handling of sensitive data across various devices.
