This research brief presents findings from a study conducted by Discovery Education in partnership with LearnPlatform, focusing on the effects of DreamBox Math on student achievement in a large North Carolina school district. The study involved over 50,000 K-5 students across more than 160 schools and aimed to analyze the relationship between DreamBox Math usage and performance in statewide math assessments. The research was designed to meet Level III requirements according to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Key findings indicate that students with moderate to high usage of DreamBox Math scored significantly higher on NWEA MAP and End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments compared to those with low usage. The study also categorized participants by gender and race, revealing positive associations between DreamBox Math usage and achievement across various subgroups. Overall, the results suggest that DreamBox Math serves as an effective tool for enhancing math instruction and improving student outcomes.
