This technical report presents the findings of a study conducted by LearnPlatform, commissioned by Discovery Education, to evaluate the effectiveness of DreamBox Math on student math outcomes during the 2022–23 school year. The study involved a sample of 57,146 K–8 students across 161 schools and aimed to meet Level III evidence requirements as per the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The report details the methodology, including the analysis of DreamBox usage data and standardized assessments such as NWEA MAP® scores and state end-of-grade assessments. Results indicated that increased usage of DreamBox Math correlated with higher math achievement, particularly among K–5 students. Statistically significant relationships were found between lesson completion and assessment scores, with positive outcomes observed across various demographic subgroups. The report concludes by affirming the study's adherence to ESSA standards, highlighting the importance of DreamBox Math in addressing learning loss exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
