This case study outlines the efforts of DLH in addressing health challenges faced by hospitals in rural areas, particularly concerning patient access, clinical treatment, staffing, and financial performance. The document describes how DLH collaborated with a customer to implement various interventions, including telehealth and ambulance services, to enhance health outcomes. However, the customer initially struggled with accurately assessing and monitoring the results of these interventions. To address this, DLH developed a comprehensive data collection and analytics framework, which included designing tools and training staff on their utilization. As data was collected, DLH conducted a thorough analysis, comparing trends against established state and national benchmarks. The findings were communicated to the customer, along with recommendations for modifying practices to improve patient outcomes. Additionally, the case study highlights DLH's capabilities in data management and statistical analysis, emphasizing their iterative, prototype-driven approach and the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in their solutions.
