Digital Transformation in Human Resource Management

This case study outlines the digital transformation implemented by Florida's Department of Health (DOH) in its Personnel and Human Resource Management Department. The department faced challenges with manual processes and paper files, which overwhelmed staff and delayed response times for records requests. By digitizing records and integrating with their HR management system, DOH significantly improved efficiency, reducing processing times from weeks to hours. Staff can now search for employee records using keywords and email files directly, eliminating the need for in-person appointments. The transformation also enhanced the management of confidential records, improving security and access. The project resulted in the reassignment of three full-time employees and restored office space by eliminating the physical file room. Overall, the digital transformation has led to improved customer service and operational efficiency, benefiting both the department and its clients.
