This case study details the partnership between Washington Township in Morris County and Daida to modernize municipal records through secure document digitization and cloud-based management. The objective was to convert paper records into searchable electronic files, thereby improving accessibility and streamlining the fulfillment of OPRA requests. Daida implemented a comprehensive solution that included secure cloud storage, intelligent indexing, and built-in document redaction capabilities. The results showed a significant improvement in document retrieval times, with employees able to access historical records in minutes rather than hours. Additionally, the project helped free up valuable physical space by reducing reliance on paper filing systems. The case study outlines the challenges faced by the Township, including overcrowded filing cabinets and difficulties in locating records, which necessitated a centralized digital solution. Overall, the implementation supported compliance with New Jersey DORES requirements and enhanced the efficiency of records management.
