Maersk Data Infrastructure Transformation Case Study

This case study outlines the challenges faced by Maersk, a global transportation and logistics company, regarding their data infrastructure. Despite having extensive operational data, Maersk encountered significant user adoption issues due to a lack of reliability in their initial system, which suffered from frequent downtime and poor performance. As a solution, Maersk rebuilt their data infrastructure using Dremio's open data lakehouse platform, implementing a three-layer architecture that utilized the Apache Iceberg format.
