RWE Supply and Trading Data Strategy Case Study

This case study details the implementation of a modern data environment by RWE Supply & Trading using Dremio within an AWS cloud architecture. RWE, a major player in the energy sector, faced challenges in managing increasing data volumes and required a new data strategy to enhance collaboration and data access for its analysts and traders. The solution involved creating a self-service platform that democratizes data access across teams, allowing users to explore and visualize data efficiently. The project, named Lead in Data (LiD), aimed to foster a data culture that promotes sharing insights and knowledge transfer. With Dremio, RWE can now leverage a centralized data access platform, enabling users to perform analytics without needing to know the underlying data sources. This transformation has resulted in improved team efficiency, informed decision-making, and significant time and cost savings. The case study highlights the successful integration of cloud technologies and the establishment of a strong governance framework to ensure data ownership and quality.
