This technical report outlines the support provided by Eastman to the PT Dewasutratex textile factory in Bandung, Indonesia, focusing on the enhancement of their heat transfer system. The factory has been using Eastman Therminol® heat transfer fluids for nearly fifty years. During a maintenance visit in 2019, Eastman's technical experts identified that the heat transfer fluid was undergoing oxidation due to elevated temperatures in the expansion tank, leading to sludge formation and reduced heat transfer efficiency. The report details the analysis of the system's operational parameters and the subsequent recommendations made by Eastman. The proposed solution involved redesigning the expansion tank and deaerator buffer tank to regulate fluid temperatures below 80°C, thereby minimizing oxidation and sludge formation. Additionally, a fresh supply of Therminol 55 was introduced to enhance system performance. The report concludes with a statement from the factory director expressing satisfaction with the improvements and ongoing support from Eastman.
