This case study examines the implementation of Edenred Pay's virtual card program at Alameda Health Systems (AHS), a healthcare system in California. AHS faced challenges with their previous credit card program, including stagnant vendor participation and difficulties in payment reconciliation. The Lean Team at AHS sought to improve these processes by evaluating three payment automation companies, ultimately selecting Edenred Pay due to its customer service and reporting capabilities. The implementation took about two weeks and integrated seamlessly with AHS's existing ERP system. Post-implementation, AHS reported significant improvements, including increased vendor enrollment, a rebate of $279,300 over 14 months, and an average time savings of 40 hours per month in processing and reconciliation. The enhanced customer service and support from Edenred Pay have also contributed to vendor satisfaction. Overall, the transition to Edenred Pay has resulted in a more efficient payment process and improved relationships with vendors.
