This case study details the implementation of a fleet fuel program by Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions, which operates a fleet of over 260 semi-tractor trailers for national delivery. The previous system, where drivers used individual fuel cards, created challenges in reconciling expenses and tracking discounts. The Director of Transportation, Colleen Beattie, identified discrepancies in reported fuel spending and sought to enhance the efficiency of the fuel program. After selecting Edenred Pay as the service provider, Trulite established a consistent fuel card program that included real-time purchasing controls and security features. The program not only streamlined fuel spending but also resulted in significant savings, totaling approximately $450,000 annually, along with over $58,000 in additional rebates. The case study outlines the steps taken to negotiate discounts and the benefits of centralized management of fuel transactions, emphasizing the importance of visibility and control in fleet operations.
