This case study details the implementation of Micro Motion Coriolis meters equipped with 5700 transmitters at a leading petrochemical company. The objective was to extend calibration intervals and enhance the accuracy of mass flow measurement during custody transfer operations. The installation included one hundred Coriolis flow meters that required high-accuracy performance verification over time. Traditionally, verification involved labor-intensive processes that necessitated meter removal and resulted in costly downtime. The solution implemented was Smart Meter Verification, which allowed for in-situ verification of meter performance without process interruptions. This approach not only reduced manual intervention and maintenance costs but also enabled early detection of meter degradation. The financial impact was significant, with total savings of $800,000 achieved through avoided calibration costs and unplanned downtime. The 5700 transmitter provided agency-recognized reports that supported compliance and extended recalibration intervals, demonstrating its critical role in maintaining operational efficiency.
