This document is a research article that analyzes the issue of retractions in Korean journals, specifically focusing on data from the KoreaMed database. It outlines the importance of retractions in correcting the scientific literature when published data is found to be unreliable or unethical. The article discusses the criteria set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for issuing retractions and highlights the differences in retraction patterns between KoreaMed and PubMed, noting a significantly higher rate of retractions due to duplicate publications in KoreaMed.
