This case study details the implementation of NexSys® TPPL (Thin Plate Pure Lead) batteries by a global furniture manufacturer for its new greenfield manufacturing site. The company aimed to reduce maintenance and costs associated with flooded lead acid batteries for its lift truck fleet. After a power study conducted by EnerSys®, the manufacturer opted for NexSys® TPPL batteries, which are designed to eliminate the need for watering maintenance and allow for opportunity charging. The study highlighted significant savings, estimating a reduction in maintenance costs by approximately $55,280 annually and electricity costs by over $33,000. The total projected savings over five years is approximately $498,830. The successful implementation led the manufacturer to consider using NexSys® TPPL batteries in other facilities, demonstrating the operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of this battery technology. The case study concludes with the anticipated financial benefits and productivity improvements resulting from this decision.
