This report details the state of clean power capacity in the United States as of Q4 2025. It outlines significant developments, including the addition of 48.5 gigawatts (GW) of new clean power capacity in 2025, which is equivalent to approximately 23 Hoover Dams. The report highlights that 217 GW of new clean power capacity is either planned or under construction, significantly outpacing the 45 GW of fossil fuel capacity. Solar power and batteries account for 85 percent of the planned clean capacity. However, the report also notes that 13.4 GW of planned clean capacity was canceled in 2025, with offshore wind projects facing the highest cancellation rates. Additionally, 12.8 GW of clean energy capacity was delayed, resulting in a 20 percent reduction in expected capacity for the year. The report emphasizes the challenges in meeting the growing electricity demand while maintaining affordability and reliability in the power sector.
