Eppendorf CryoStorage Vials Performance Analysis

This Application Note presents an analysis of the performance of Eppendorf CryoStorage Vials in comparison to reference cryotubes from manufacturer 'M'. The study focuses on sample recovery and integrity across various sample types, including whole blood, cell culture, and gDNA aliquots, under typical cryostorage conditions. Key safety parameters such as lid tightness, tube wall integrity, and sample weight variation were evaluated. The results indicate that Eppendorf CryoStorage Vials achieve virtually 100% recovery rates for all sample types tested, while maintaining vital safety features. The study also highlights the low variance in sample recovery observed with Eppendorf vials, contrasting with the higher variance and lower recovery rates of the reference cryotubes. Additionally, the influence of cryostorage on downstream applications like qPCR and cell viability was assessed, confirming that Eppendorf vials ensure consistent sample quality and integrity. Overall, the findings support the use of Eppendorf CryoStorage Vials for high-density storage needs.
