This document is a technical report detailing an example of an ETAP validation test case for Arc-Flash Analysis (AF). It presents a comparison of ETAP ArcFault™ results against published IEEE/NESC Standards, specifically focusing on the methodologies used in the analysis. The report outlines the two methods employed, Method 1 (Terzija/Koglin) and Method 2 (EPRI), and describes the incident energy comparisons between these methods and the standards outlined in IEEE C2-2023. The analysis covers various voltage ranges and fault conditions, providing a detailed examination of the input electrical parameters and incident energy levels for personnel working on open-air equipment. The document includes figures and tables summarizing the validation comparisons, illustrating the correlation between the ETAP methodologies and the established standards. The findings indicate that the ETAP ArcFault™ methods are validated through engineering analysis and real-life test comparisons, ensuring their reliability in practical applications.
