This document is a case study that presents the validation results of the ETAP Transient Stability (TS) program, specifically focusing on the Sequential Motor Dynamic Acceleration Simulation. The study compares the simulation results of ETAP with those from the PTI PSS/E program, detailing the simulation of a system that includes a generator and six induction motors. The document outlines the modeling of the generator and motors using various ETAP built-in models, including the salient-pole synchronous generator and the IEEE ST2 excitation model. It describes the simulation events, which involve starting the motors sequentially with specified intervals. The results are compared in terms of generator real, reactive, and mechanical power, as well as motor terminal voltages and slips. The findings indicate that the simulation results from ETAP and PSS/E are nearly identical, confirming the reliability of the ETAP TS program for transient stability analysis.
