Financial Education Initiatives at VyStar Credit Union

This document is a case study detailing VyStar Credit Union's commitment to enhancing financial wellness through personalized financial education. It outlines the historical context of VyStar's founding and its mission to serve diverse communities, particularly military families and underserved populations. The case study describes the challenges faced by members in accessing financial education and the limitations of traditional methods. To address these gaps, VyStar partnered with Everfi to implement a customized digital financial education solution, launching the VyStar Financial Fitness program in February 2024. The program includes interactive quizzes and educational modules covering various financial topics. The success of the initiative is highlighted by the VyStar Savings Challenge, which engaged over 31,000 participants and resulted in significant savings among members. Additionally, the Fostering Financial Fitness program targets youth in foster care, providing essential financial skills. The case study emphasizes the importance of personalized, data-driven education in empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
