This case study documents the application goal of reducing compressed air consumption and noise levels in various blow-off and drying applications. Initially, a hose manufacturer utilized plastic modular hose assemblies designed for liquid coolant use for air blow-offs, which proved to be inefficient and wasteful when used with air. The study details the replacement of two modular hose blow-offs with EXAIR Super Air Wipes, specifically the Model 2403 3" Aluminum Super Air Wipe and the Model 2401 1" Aluminum Super Air Wipe. Following successful operation verification, 22 additional production lines were outfitted with these Super Air Wipes. The document lists the quantities of blow-offs replaced, their operating pressures, and the resulting reductions in air consumption and sound levels. The total annual savings from the switch amounted to $13,077.00, with a return on investment calculated at just 285 days. The environmental benefits of the quieter Super Air Wipes were noted as immediate.
