This case study outlines the collaborative digital transformation journey of Bank Rakyat (BR) in partnership with Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (EY Malaysia). It describes how BR, a leading Islamic cooperative bank in Malaysia, recognized the need for digital transformation to enhance its competitiveness in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. The partnership employed a Digital Augmented Resources (DAR) model, which integrated service delivery with upskilling initiatives. Over an 18-month period, the collaboration focused on three strategic goals: Grow, Sustain, and Accelerate, aiming to enhance digital competencies and Agile methodologies among bank employees. The report details the structured phases of the partnership, emphasizing continuous capability development alongside project execution. Key initiatives included formal training, experiential learning, and knowledge-sharing platforms. The results demonstrated significant improvements in digital competency and project delivery efficiency, positioning BR as a leader in Shariah-compliant financial services.
